Description

Three capitals on the Danube and the Vltava, linked by comfortable daytime trains. You stay in small family-run hotels in the old towns, so every morning starts with a walk instead of a transfer.

Each city has a local guide for a half-day walk and a free afternoon with our list of cafés, markets and viewpoints.

Itinerary

1. Days 1–3

   Prague

   Old Town walk, the castle at sunrise and a beer-hall dinner.

2. Days 4–5

   Vienna

   Train to Vienna, coffee-house tour and an evening concert.

3. Days 6–8

   Budapest

   Danube views, thermal baths and a farewell dinner by the river.
